Live Classes for UGC NET JRF Paper 1

UGC NET JRF (National Eligibility Test for Junior Research Fellowship) is a prestigious examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC). 

UGC NET JRF exam is conducted twice a year to determine the eligibility of candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for the appointment of Assistant Professors in Indian universities and colleges.

Paper-1 of UGC NET JRF is the General Aptitude Test, which is a common paper for all candidates irrespective of their subject of specialization. It consists of 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with a maximum score of 100 marks. The duration of the exam is 3 hours, and there is no negative marking.

The purpose of Paper-1 is to evaluate the general knowledge, reasoning ability, comprehension, and research aptitude of candidates. The syllabus for Paper-1 is designed to test the candidates' proficiency in the following areas:

  • Teaching and Research Aptitude: This section evaluates the candidate's understanding of teaching and research methods, classroom communication, and teaching aids
  • Logical Reasoning: This section assesses the candidate's ability to analyze and evaluate arguments, identify patterns, and draw logical conclusions.
  • Reading Comprehension: This section evaluates the candidate's reading and comprehension skills, including their ability to understand and interpret information from a given passage.
  • Communication: This section assesses the candidate's communication skills, including their ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Mathematical Reasoning and Aptitude: This section evaluates the candidate's proficiency in basic mathematics, including numerical ability, data interpretation, and mathematical reasoning.
  • General Awareness: This section tests the candidate's knowledge of current affairs, history, geography, economics, politics, and other related subjects.
