NTA UGC NET/SET/JRF Paper-1, UGC NET PAPER 1

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the National Eligibility Test (NET) on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor’, ‘appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D.’, and ‘admission to Ph.D. only’ in Indian universities and colleges.

The NET JRF exam consists of 2 Papers: Paper I and Paper II. Paper 2 is subject-specific and student a student can choose paper 2 subject as per their postgraduate subject. UGC listed a total of 83 subjects under paper 2. Whereas Paper 1 is the common paper, it is also called General Paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude (Paper-I) and is compulsory for all NET subjects.
