Hence, it is a tough job for a candidate to decide about the entrance examinations where he/she should apply to take admission in their desired course.
In this article, we have provided a list of top entrance examinations that a student can apply for to get admission to MA/M.Sc Psychology course.
CUET-PG (Central University Entrance Test) (Post-Graduation)
This is one of the most popular entrance examinations where students apply for taking admission in the Master’s Courses. CUET PG is a progressed course of CU-CUET (Central Universities Entrance Test). CUET PG includes at least 50 colleges that provide Masters in Psychology to their students including BHU and AUD. The entrance test includes various courses that a student can apply for after graduation.
The total number of participating institutions is above 25, offering the courses, Psychology, Applied Psychology, Health Psychology, Sports Psychology, Psychology (Rehabilitation Psychology (PGDRP), Psychology (Child Guidance and Counselling), M.Sc. Human Development & Family Studies.
CUET has more than 500 seats available for students and the forms will tentatively be available in July or August.
DUET (Delhi University Entrance Test)
Delhi University is the favorite choice of many students for Graduation as well as master’s. DUET is conducted by Delhi University to take admission for various Master’s Courses including Psychology. DUET includes Masters in Psychology and Masters in Applied Psychology courses. Also, the number of available seats is 204 and the general announcement month of application forms is September or October. From the session 2023, DUET is included in the CUET & CUET PG.
TISS-NET (Tata Institute of Social Sciences) (NET)
TISS-NET is the Entrance Examination of Tata Institute of Social Science for taking admission in various Masters’s Courses. This exam is conducted for admission in academic centers in Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati, and Hyderabad. Psychology is available at TISS Mumbai only. TISS provides a Master of Arts in Applied Psychology (Clinical and Counseling Practice). The Number of Available seats is 50 and the application forms are usually out in the month of December or January.
GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering)
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an entrance test that assesses a candidate’s knowledge of various undergraduate engineering and science syllabi. Students give GATE Exam to take admission in various Master’s Programmes in the participating IITs. The number of participating universities has increased to 8, and the number of courses also increased to 29. The Gate includes MA Psychology for 200+ Students and the Application forms are generally available in the month of August or September.
JMI (Jamia Millia Islamia)
Jamia Millia Islamia is a central university in New Delhi that began as a modest institution in Aligarh in 1920 and has since grown to become a university. JMI Conducts its entrance examinations every year for the admission of various Masters’s courses including an MA in Applied Psychology. Jamia is one of the most popular options available for students in Delhi. The Number of available seats is 42 and the application forms are announced in March or April.
NFSU (National Forensic Sciences University)
NFSU, Gujrat provides various Masters’s Courses including Psychology, Forensic Psychology, and Criminology. The Entrance Examinations of NFSU include more than 10 subjects including M.Phil in Clinical Psychology. Non-Psychology Background Students are also eligible to apply for this entrance test.
NFSU provides various postgraduate courses in psychology including M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology and M.Sc. Neuropsychology, M.Sc. Forensic Psychology and M.A Criminology with the available seats 50+40+40+30 respectively. The Admission forms of NFSU are generally available in the month of April or May.
MAHE (Manipal Academy of Higher Education)
Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is a private multidisciplinary deemed university. The university has campuses in Mangalore, Bangalore, Jamshedpur, Malacca, and Dubai. The university offers more than 350 programs in 30 Disciplines including M.Sc Clinical Psychology and M.Phil Clinical Psychology. For Masters students of Psychology MAHE offers M.Sc in Clinical Psychology course where admissions are usually available in November or December
