NTA has opened the registration for NET Exam for the session June 2024. Before applying, you are suggested to read all the necessary information regarding NET Exam mentioned below for UGC NET Psychology Registration June 2024.
UGC NET Psychology is a nationwide accepted exam in India. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) twice a year to determine the eligibility of students to become Assistant Professor or Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellow (JRF).
Eligibility Criteria
- For the candidates who belong to the category of General /Unreserved /General-EWS, it is essential to have attained at least 55% marks in their Master’s in a particular discipline (Like Psychology) from the Universities /Colleges recognized by the UGC to become eligible for this exam.
- A relaxation of 5% marks has been provided to candidates belonging to the category of OBC-NCL /SC /ST /PwD /Third Gender, hence they should have gained at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in their Master’s Program or equivalent to eligible for UGC NET June 2024 Examination.
- Candidates who are still pursuing their Master’s program OR their final result of Master’s program is still awaited OR their exam has been delayed can also apply. However, such candidates will be considered eligible for exam after they have cleared the Master’s program. Notably, the candidates must have cleared their Master’s program within 2 years of registering in UGC NET June 2024.
- Those candidates who are holding Ph.D. Degree and have completed their Master’s in Psychology or other particular discipline by 19 September 1991 can claim the relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks.
- Candidates who have passed a 4 years /8 semester bachelor’s degree must have gained a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or equivalent to this. A relaxation of 5% marks have been provided to those students who belong to SC /ST /OBC-NCL /Differently Abled /EWS and other categories as per the decision.
Exam Pattern of UGC NET June 2024
The UGC NET Exam of June 2024 session will be OMR based. There will be two paper in UGC NET Examination. Paper I and Paper II.

Medium of UGC NET Question Paper
- The examination will be in both English and Hindi only, except language paper.
- Students need to select the mode of examination carefully. No further changes will be allowed for the same.
- Candidates are advised to answer the question in exam as selected in the examination form.
- In case of any ambiguity in translation, its English version shall be treated as final.
- The decision of NTA will be final decision.

Marking Scheme in UGC NET Exam
- Each question carries two (02) marks
- Candidates will get 02 marks for correct response each
- There is no negative marking in the examination
- No marking will be there for un-answered /un-attempted /marked for review
Age Limit and Relaxation
- JRF: A relaxation of 5% marks have been provided to the candidates belonging to the category of OBC-NCL /SC /ST /PwD /Third Gender and women applicants.
- Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit for assistant professor.
- Admission to PhD: There is no upper age limit in applying for UGC NET for admission to Ph.D.

Seats Reservation for UGC NET
Reservation policy of Govt. of India is applicable to UGC-NET. The reservation criteria is as follows.
- 15% seats are for SC Candidates
- 7.5% seats are reserved for ST candidates
- 27% of seats for OBC-NCL as per the central list
- 10% seats are reserved for General-EWS candidates

Candidates need to visit the official website of NTA via the link mentioned below to fill out the application form. Follow the steps to apply online.
- You are to register as a new user by providing your Email and Mobile Number.
- Once you register, you will have the application number to login on the website. After login you need to fill the necessary information and upload the necessary documents including recent photograph (file size 10KB-200KB) with 80% face (without mask) and Candidate’s signature (size 4KB to 30KB).

Important Instructions
- The eligibility in NET will depend on the performance of the candidates in both paper I and paper II.
- The national fellowship of schedule caste students (NFSC) and national fellowship for other backward classes (NFOBC) shall be governed by the guidelines available on the official website of the concerned ministries.
- Individuals who pass the Assistant Professor eligibility test will follow the rules and guidelines set by the universities, colleges, or state governments for hiring Assistant Professors.
