The M.Phil Clinical Psychology is a two-year program that students can pursue after their Masters in Psychology. After completing this course, students get a license from RCI to work as clinical psychologists in India.

There are no pre-defined syllabus, patterns or criteria for the M.Phil in Clinical Psychology Entrance Exam, but understanding exam patterns is possible by observing question papers of the last few years.
The syllabus usually contains concepts of perception, learning, memory, motivation, and emotion, problem-solving along with Developmental Psychology, which focuses on psychological growth across the lifespan. Social Psychology, Personality Theories and Intelligence Theories, both classical and contemporary, are frequently included.
The exam also includes topics from Biological and Neuropsychology, especially brain-behavior relationships, neurotransmitters, and neuropsychological disorders. Another section to cover is psychometric principles, intelligence and personality assessments.
Abnormal psychology and clinical psychology are also the major sections for the exam, and they include the classification, diagnosis, and understanding of mental disorders. Research Methodology and Statistics are also important for the M.Phil Clinical Psychology Entrances specifically Research Methods.
Ethics in Psychology and Psychodiagnostics familiarity with the Mental Health Acts and Policies in India are not part of the syllabus, but reading them once can help.

Yes, if your Master’s is not an RCI-recognized Clinical Psychology degree (earlier known as MPhil in Clinical Psychology). In that case, you must complete an RCI-approved clinical qualification to be eligible for licensing.
If you have completed MA Clinical Psychology (RCI-recognized), then you do not need another degree. You can directly apply for registration and obtain your license from the Rehabilitation Council of India.
