MA Clinical Psychology(RCI) or M.Phil in Clinical Psychology is a two-year hospital-based postgraduate course. Throughout this course, the student receives training in counselling skills, Therapeutic techniques, Diagnostic criteria, Psychometry and Diagnostic tools. The MA in Clinical Psychology or M.Phil Clinical Psychology course is very popular because through this course, the student can get a license to start their career as a Clinical Psychologist in India.
The candidates who are aiming to study MA Clinical Psychology (formerly M.Phil Clinical Psychology) should have completed their M.A./M.Sc. Psychology with at least an aggregate of 55% marks obtained in their exams. However, there are different criteria for different universities and hospitals. Yes, if your Master’s is not an RCI-recognized Clinical Psychology degree (earlier known as MPhil in Clinical Psychology). In that case, you must complete an RCI-approved clinical qualification to be eligible for licensing.
If you have completed MA Clinical Psychology (RCI-recognized), then you do not need another degree. You can directly apply for registration and obtain your license from the Rehabilitation Council of India.
