Christ University, Ghaziabad

As mentioned above some of the institutes have their own entrance exams for Master’s in Psychology entrance, Christ University, Ghaziabad is one of those institutes. The University holds the status of being “Deemed”. This institute provides many programs such as engineering, science, commerce, management, and Psychology. The main campus of this institute is situated in Bangalore but it has other campuses as well located in Delhi NCR, Pune Lavasa.

Christ University has its own entrance exam for the admissions to postgraduate programs. The university offers M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology Program.

Eligibility: Bachelor’s in Psychology from a university recognized by UGC as a core paper in all years of their program. 50% marks are necessary for admission to Christ University.

Students get 1+ mark for the right response each. However, there is a negative marking of ¼ marks i.e. 0.25 marks will be deducted for wrong answer each. If candidates have not attempted any questions, no marks will be awarded or deducted for those questions.

Banaras Hindu University (BHU)

Banaras Hindu University, often abbreviated as BHU is located in Varanasi. This institute is one of the top-ranked institutes in India. It is a prestigious central university. This institute follows the pattern of CUET. Students have to clear CUET-PG Psychology course for taking admission in this institute.

Eligibility: Bachelor’s in Psychology in any discipline. 55% marks are essential for general category students. In case of SC /ST category, 50% marks are necessary to be eligible for admission.

Gautam Buddha University (GBU)

Gautam Buddha University, also called GBU was established in August 2008. The University of State Government University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). GBU offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programs including Psychology. The institute serves M.A. Applied Psychology and M.Sc. Applied Psychology. Gautam Buddha University also has its own entrance tests for the admission to Master’s in Psychology program.

Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at lest 45% marks. 40% marks are necessary in case of SC /ST category candidates.

Intake: There are 60 intake for Master’s in Psychology.

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)

Aligarh Muslim University, often abbreviated as AMU is a public central university that is situated in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The university came into existence in the year 1875 by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan as the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriented College. Later, it was renamed as Aligarh Muslim University. The university offers MA Psychology program.

Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with not less than 55% marks in aggregate.

Note: This entrance test only takes place in Uttar Pradesh. There is an upper age limit of 27 years to be eligible for this entrance test.

Intake: There are 40 intakes at AMU for MA Psychology.

Total Marks: 100

70 questions will be objective-type MCQ questions containing 70 marks, hence 1 question carries 1 mark. 10 questions are short answer type questions containing 30 marks.
