The Gwalior Mansik Arogyashala (GMA) has released the applications in the prescribed format for admission to the M.Phil Clinical Psychology program. This two-year, full-time course is hospital-based and is available for the session 2023-25. Detailed information regarding the admission process is provided below.
Gwalior Mansik Arogyashala, originally established in 1935 as a 30-bed mental asylum, is now an autonomous institution governed by the Madhya Pradesh government. In 1994, it underwent a name change from Mental Hospital to Gwalior Mansik Arogyashala. In response to several Public Interest Litigations (PILs) regarding the hospital’s living conditions, the Supreme Court instructed the state government to convert the hospital into a medical institution to enhance its state. By 2001, a 50-bed outpatient department (OPD) was initiated, and in 2015, the hospital introduced its Drug De-addiction Centre.
GMA M.Phil in Clinical Psychology
The duration of the course is 2 years. Candidates who had completed Regular Masters in Psychology / Applied Psychology from a recognized University / Indira Gandhi National Open University with a minimum of 55% (50% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate are eligible to apply for this program. The total seat intake is 8.
Note: Final-year students can apply, but they must submit proof of having passed the final year PG examination at the time of counseling otherwise, they will not be allowed to appear in counseling and their candidature will be canceled.
The institute will provide a stipend of ₹2,500/-

- Mark sheet
- Degree certificate
- Caste certificate
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) if currently employed

Application Fee
The fee should be submitted as a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favor of the “Director, Gwalior Mansik Arogyashala” payable at Gwalior. It should be enclosed with the application form. Below is the application fee:
- ₹1,000 (for UR and OBC)
- ₹500 (for Madhya Pradesh SC/ST candidates)
Please ensure that all the relevant documents and the application fee are enclosed. Incomplete applications lacking the necessary documents will not be considered. Kindly attach the checklist for the list of enclosures.
