Update on RCI-regulated MA in Clinical Psychology | MA Cli. Psy. (RCI Registered)
The Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) has finally introduced the much-anticipated course “MA in Clinical Psychology”, a replacement course of current M.Phil in Clinical Psychology.
The RCI has officially uploaded the Guidelines & Syllabus for this RCI Regulated Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology. This article includes the course highlights and other information required.
Why MA Clinical Psychology?
With the implementation of NEP 2020, there has been a marked shift in higher education including professional education in different fields of study including Psychology. One of the changes mandated by UGC is to discontinue all M.Phil programmes including M.Phil in Clinical Psychology.
By understanding the need for an M.Phil in Clinical Psychology, it was planned to change the nomenclature of the course with some advancement in the syllabus to align with NEP. It has therefore, necessitated the present programme in place of M.Phil Clinical Psychology. It is being nomenclated as “M. A. (Clinical Psychology) 2-year programme, RCI regulated”.
