IIT Bhubaneswar has announced the applications for admission to Ph.D. in Psychology program for academic year 2023-24. Applicants willing to pursue their PhD in Psychology at IIT Bhubaneswar can now fill out an online application. Further details regarding the application procedure and program are as follows.
The starting date for submitting the online application form is October 09, 2023 till 1:00 PM. And interested candidates can apply online until November 23, 2023 till 11:00 PM.
About IIT Bhubaneswar
The establishment of the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar occurred on July 22, 2008, when it embraced the esteemed IIT status. This fact means that the institute needs to live up to its IIT reputation and also set itself apart by innovating and creating new pathways. The institute accepts students for undergraduate and master’s degrees through tests called JEE Advance and Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). About Ph.D. and Ph.D. in Psychology
A Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is the highest and most common academic degree which allow students to delve deeper into research area of the concerned subject. In order to get admitted to Ph.D Programme in Psychology, candidates need go through entrance exams.
The duration of the Ph.D. program is usually between 2 to 7 years. The minimum qualification to apply for this course is an M.A./M.Sc degree in Psychology. The minimum credits to apply for the same are 12 or 20* credits (depending on the program). Also, the candidate must clear the GATE or UGC NET exam for admission to Ph.D. in Psychology.
Application Fee Details
Applicants, who belong to the General, General (EWS) and OBC category are obligated to pay an application fee of Rs. 500/-. A 50% reduction in the application fee is granted to individuals who fall into the categories of SC, ST, or PwD candidates. If the applicant is female, no application fee is required to pay and hence she can take a print of the application form for further reference. Candidates will not get any refund for the application fee under any circumstances once the payment is made.
IIT Bhubaneswar Application Procedure
The students should visit the Apply Now link. Register to the online portal by providing your current functioning Email ID. Log in to the portal with the Email ID and password candidates got when they signed up. Applicants should provide the correct information in step 1 to step 3. In 4th step, applicants are required to pay the fee (If male). In step 5, candidates need to review their data and if everything is correct then save and submit your application.

- Applicants don’t need to send a physical copy of the application form. Nonetheless, it is recommended that candidates retain a printed copy of the submitted application for future reference.

- Applications that are incomplete or lack the necessary supporting documents and required application fee (where applicable) will be promptly rejected, and no communication regarding such cases will be entertained.
