PhD Psychology Admissions 2024
Applications are available IIT Delhi for admission to Ph.D. programs including Psychology. The area of specialization in PhD Psychology includes Positive Psychology, Social Psychology, Intergroup Relations, Social identity, group-based emotions, Social Psychology of Caste, Collective Action and Social Change, Psychology of Humiliation, Stigma and Well-being, Leadership, Cognition, and Cognitive Neuroscience. The applications are for the session 2024-25. The admission portal will be active from 20 March 2024. Candidates, who fulfill the eligibility criteria can now apply via the link mentioned below. Further details regarding the application process, eligibility, last date, etc. are as follows.
IIT Delhi is a public technical and research university located in Hauz Khas, New Delhi, India. Established in 1961, it offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various fields of engineering, technology, sciences, management, and humanities.
Minimum Qualifications for Full-time PhD Programs
Here is the minimum qualification to get into PhD program at IIT Delhi.

Exemptions, Relaxation, and Clarification of the Examination
There is a relaxation in marks for various special category students.
Relaxation in Marks
- Candidates, who belong to the category of SC /ST /PwD will get a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying degree (S. No. 1 and 2 in the above qualification table) and a relaxation is CGPA (from 6.00 to 5.50).
- SC /ST /PwD candidates will get a relaxation of 5% (from 70% to 65%) and a relaxation is CGPA (from 7.00 to 6.50).
Exemption of GATE /NET /Entrance Exam
- Candidates, who have completed their MA or MSc from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum of CGPA 8.00 or above.
- The candidates, having MA Degree in English will get a relaxation of 5% marks and a relaxation of 0.5 in CGPA.
Note: The qualifying degree is calculated by aggregating performance over all the semesters/years of the qualifying degree as per the credit or weightage system approved in the institution /board where students have completed their degree.

The fee for PhD Psychology at IIT Delhi varies for different categories of students.

Application Fee
Candidates, belonging to the category of General /OBC /EWS need to make a payment of ₹200/- as an application fee. Candidates, who belong to SC /ST /PwD need to pay ₹50/- as the application fee.
Note: The bank changes will NOT be borne by institutes.
Application Process
Candidates can apply ONLINE via the link using below. Application in any other format will not be acceptable. So, candidates are advised NOT to send application forms and bank challan. You need to visit the admission portal and have to create an account there.

Follow the steps to complete the application form
- Firstly, you need to visit the link mentioned above to register as a new user. Once you register, you will receive credentials in your mail to login to IIT Delhi admission portal.
- After login, you will have home page of admission page. There you will see an option “APPLY NOW” at top left corner, you have to click that and start filling a new application. There will be several fields.
- After starting new application, you need to provide your basic details in the Personal Details field.
- After that you have to select the program, you are applying for.
- Once you are done with this, you have to provide your academic details like, graduation details, GATE /NET (if cleared), school details etc.
- After this, you are to provide experience details.
- Then, you are to upload the necessary documents as shown on the website.
- After the final submission of your form, you have to make the payment of the application fee.
Important Instructions
- Candidates will be informed about the date of test/interview by the department /center/ school.
- Incomplete application will be rejected.
- Students in their last year of exams can only apply for admission if they finish all their exams, including any oral exams, by the registration deadline.
