Dharwad Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (DIMHANS) which is one of the best government autonomous institutions.
The institution offers M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology under the department of Clinical Psychology. The department is actively engaged in clinical services, research activities, and community services. Currently, the department has two teaching faculties and four Clinical Psychologists. In 2018 the department of clinical psychology has been recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCINew Delhi) for M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology with an intake capacity of 6 seats per year from 2018-2022.
Eligibility for the course:
The minimum educational requirement for admission to this course will be M.A./M.Sc. degree in Psychology from a university recognized by the UGC with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate, preferably with special paper in Clinical Psychology. For SC/ST/OBC category, a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate is essential.
The number of seats:
Five candidates per year are admitted for the course. Of these, one seat may be reserved for deputed, in-service candidates from State Government. However, the intake quota may be revised by RGUHS from time to time. Other reservations shall be allocated as per state Govt., and RGUHS rules.
Selection Process:
The applicants should appear for the Entrance Test conducted by DIMHANS. All the candidates should clear the MCQ-type written entrance test with a minimum of 50% marks to become eligible for the interview.
After the entrance test, a list of candidates qualified for interview/counseling in order of merit will be announced. The selection is entirely based on marks obtained in the entrance examination.
Entrance Test:
Entrance Exam consists of 100 MCQs. Each question carries 01 marks with a negative marking of 0.25 marks for wrong answers. The duration of the Entrance Test shall be 90 Minutes.
Tentative time of Admission:
DHIMHANS usually conducts the entrance examination in the month of September.
