King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, U.P., has invited applications for its MPhil Clinical Psychology Program for the academic session of 2025-27.

Method of Selection

Selection in KGMU’s MPhil Clinical Psychology program will be based on an Offline Entrance Examination.

  • Selection is based on the merit list from the MPhil Clinical Psychology Entrance Exam 2025.
  • The merit list will be based on marks obtained in the entrance exam. Both combined and category-wise merit lists will be prepared.
  • Qualified candidates will be called for category-wise counselling.
  • Tie-breaking rules (if two candidates have the same marks):
    1. The older candidates will get preference.
    2. If ages are the same, selection will be based on alphabetical order of candidates’ names.
  • Fee Payment: Qualified candidates must pay the prescribed fee on the notified date. Failure to do so will forfeit their admission.
  • Joining the Course: Candidates must join within the specified period.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The Candidate must be a Citizen of India.
  • They must hold an MA/MSc degree in Psychology, Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) from a UGC-recognised university, with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks.
  • Candidates who are in the final year of their undergraduate studies with the qualifying degrees (mentioned above) can also apply. They can sit in for the exam, but they must show their proof of graduation before the final admission confirmation.

Exam Pattern

  • The written exam will include 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
  • The questions will be based on different topics in psychology.
  • The total time allotted for the written exam will be 90 minutes.
  • Every correct answer will give +1 mark. There’s no negative marking.
  • Medium of the exam will be English.

Application Procedure & Fee

  • Candidates must apply online through the Official Application Submission Portal. The university will not accept any offline or postal submissions.
  • Candidates need to create a login ID first, using their registered email ID and mobile number.
  • After verification and creation of the account, log in to the account using the credentials created, fill the form, and pay the fee (the application fee is non-refundable).
  • The Application Fee is as follows:
    • General and OBC candidatesRs 4000
    • SC/ST candidatesRs 3000
  • Candidates must pay the application fee through the Indian Bank payment gateway using a debit/credit card or internet banking.
  • Candidates must complete the application with all necessary details and documents and submit it online to the university by 15th October 2025. The university will immediately reject incomplete or late submissions.
  • Employed candidates must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) obtained from their employer. The university will grant admission only if the candidate secures approval for study leave for the entire duration of the program.
  • All the eligibility documents, like a degree, a cast certificate, etc., will be verified in original at the time of counselling/admission. Only scanned copies of the required documents need to be uploaded with the online application form.
  • After the submission, the candidate will receive an acknowledgement email from KGMU. Also, the filled application form can be downloaded as a PDF. Do that and save a copy of it for future reference.

Admit Card Details

  • Candidates can download their admit cards from the official website of KGMU on the specified date. They also need to take a printout of it to show at the exam venue.
  • If candidates cannot download the admit card, they may collect it in person from the Office of the Controller of Examination, Pariksha Bhawan (PHI), KGMU, Lucknow:
    • Date & Time: 22nd – 24th October 2025 (Wednesday to Friday) from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
    • On Exam Day with a fine: 25th October 2025 (Saturday) from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM; Rs. 100
