Banaras Hindu University commonly known as BHU Varanasi is one of the top institutions in the country and a prestigious Central University. The university takes in 5 Institutes, 16 Faculties (streams) 140 Departments with the number of subjects pertaining to all branches of humanities, social science, technology, and many more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BHU is also popular for its MA\/M.Sc Psychology course and students were eagerly waiting for the admission of the academic year 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Usually, BHU conducts its entrances in the month of May every year called UET and PET for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses including MA\/M.Sc Psychology. But in view of covid-19, almost all the universities including BHU have delayed their admission process for the academic year 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, BHU has finally announced the admission notice for various Undergraduate (UET) and Postgraduate (PET) for the academic year 2021. As per the notice, National Testing Agency (NTA) has been entrusted by the BHU with the task of conducting UET & PET for all its courses for the academic year 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Admission for various courses will be based on the merit in Computer Based Test (CBT) based entrance test conducted by NTA and subject to fulfillment of eligibility requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Candidates belonging to the following two broad streams are eligible to get admission in M.A\/M.Sc Psychology course:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Psychology Stream (Course code: 497)<\/td>Candidates having B.A.\/B.Sc. (Hons.) in Psychology under 10+2+3 pattern or having studied Psychology as a subject in all the three years at B.A.\/B.Sc. level.<\/td><\/tr>
Non-Psychology Stream (Course code: 722)<\/td>Candidates having a graduate degree in Science, Engineering & Technology and Medical Sciences without having studied Psychology at the graduate level.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Note:<\/strong> There will be separate entrance tests for Psychology and Non-Psychology streams of candidates for admission to M.A. in Psychology. Candidates desirous to seek admission in M.A.\/M.Sc. Psychology who have not studied Psychology at the UG level (having graduate degrees in Science, Engineering & Technology and Medical Sciences) are advised to fill up the online Application form for PET Course Code 722, accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exam Scheme<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
M.A.\/M.Sc. Psychology (Course code: 497)<\/td>The entrance Test paper will be of 120 minutes duration carrying 480 marks (containing 120 multiple-choice questions) based on graduate-level knowledge of Psychology.<\/td><\/tr>
M.Sc. Non-Psychology (Course code: 722)<\/td>The entrance Test paper will be of 120 minutes duration carrying 480 marks containing 120 MCQs, as given below:
General Psychology<\/strong> (10+2 level)- 20 MCQs,
Verbal ability, reading comprehension, and knowledge of the language<\/strong>– 25 MCQs,
Data interpretation and Logical reasoning<\/strong>-25MCQs,
Quantitative Ability & Basics of Computer Application<\/strong>-25 MCQs,

Each question would carry FOUR marks for correct answer and there is NEGATIVE MARKING. For each wrong answer, ONE mark would be deducted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
