The Central University of Haryana (CUH) invites applications for its PhD program in Psychology for the academic year 2025-26. Eligible candidates can apply online before the last date. Read on to know the complete details about the program, eligibility, exam pattern, and application process.
Eligibility Criteria
For admission in the PhD program, the applicant must fulfil the following criteria:
- Candidate who has completed 1 year – 2 semester of master’s program after 4 years – 8 semester Bachelor’s degree program or 2 years – 4 semester of master’s degree after 3 years – 6 semester Bachelor’s degree program or qualification equivalent to master’s degree from an authorized university with at least 55% aggregate marks.
- Candidates who have completed a 4 years – 8 semester bachelor’s program (Honors or Honors with research) with a minimum aggregate of 75% marks or equivalent grade with respect to another grading system.
- 5% relaxation is there for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/EWS as per the UGC decision.
Method of Selection
- National Eligibility Test (NET) scores will be considered for admission in the PhD program of psychology, and the university will conduct no separate entrance exam. The clearance exam certificate must be dated on or after 1st May 2024.
- The three categories of NET considered are:
- Category 1 – eligible for admission to PhD with JRF and appointment as an Assistant Professor,
- Category 2 – eligible for admission to PhD without JRF and appointment as an Assistant Professor, and
- Category 3 – eligible for PhD program only.
- The further interview process would be conducted by the University department, wherein candidates are expected to discuss their research interest area through a Presentation before the committee.
Application Procedure & Fee
- The aspirants who match the eligibility criteria can apply online using the link given by registering as a new candidate.
- The aspirant would be required to fill in their demographic, academic, and other details. Make sure that the email address and mobile number submitted in the application form are their own or of immediate family members and active & valid.
- Then, the eligibility documents would be asked to submit as a soft copy.
- For the final submission, a registration fee of rupees 1000/- (relaxation in fee is there as per government norms for SC /ST /PWD /Women /Transgender) has to be paid through an online mode only and is non-refundable.
- After the submission, the aspirant should take a printout of the form along with supporting documents (self-attested) that would be required to produce during the document verification process.
