Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has started inviting applications for Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences and Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital (ABVIMS-RML), New Delhi’s MA Clinical Psychology (RCI) program for the academic session of 2026-27.

About Dr RML Hospital

Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, formerly known as Willingdon Hospital, was established by the British in 1933 with just 54 beds for their personnel. Later, after its transfer to the Indian Government in 1954, it expanded exponentially and now has more than 1500 beds, spread across 30 acres, with broad and super-speciality departments and 24/7 emergency services.

The Psychiatry Department, launched in 1943, now has 72 beds and is recognised as a Centre of Excellence in the field of Mental Health in India. Since May 2015, the Department has been affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), New Delhi, for offering the MA Clinical Psychology (RCI) (M.Clin.Psy) program. The program offered by them is recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and meets the regulatory requirements for professional training in clinical psychology.

Eligibility Criteria for MA Clinical Psychology program

Candidates must fulfil either of the following criteria to be eligible for the MA Clinical Psychology (RCI) (M.Clin.Psy) Program:

  • 4-year BA/BSc Degree in Psychology
    • A 4-year BA/BSc degree in Psychology from a UGC-recognized university with:
      • Minimum 55% aggregate marks
      • Minimum 50% aggregate marks for SC/ST candidates (as per GOI norms)

OR

  • 3-year Graduation + Additional Qualification
    • Candidates who have completed a 3-year graduation program must additionally complete either:
      • a 4th-year Bridge Course, or
      • the 1st year of a Master’s program in Psychology, with a minimum of 55% marks, as per Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) norms and guidelines.

Important Note: Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital (ABVIMS-RML Hospital) offers the program in affiliation with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), which conducts the entrance examination and awards the degree.

Method of Selection

Admission to ABVIMS-RML Hospital’s MA Clinical Psychology (RCI) (M.Clin.Psy) program will be based on the following:

  • Common Entrance Test (CET-166), conducted by the GGSIPU, and
  • an Interview.

Exam Pattern of MA Clinical Psychology (RCI) program

The admission process consists of a Common Entrance Test (CET) followed by an Interview, with the following weightage:

  • Entrance Test: 70% (70 marks)
  • Interview: 30% (30 marks)
  • Total: 100 marks
